What do you know about helium balloons? Test yourself!
The world of balloons is both surprisingly huge and amazing at the same time. Many people get balloons to decorate their parties in different occasions such as a birthday, anniversary, wedding, christening, graduation and many more. Not to say how happy can be a little child holding a single helium balloon.
How many types of balloons are there?
Regarding the material, you can find latex balloons which are round and come in different sizes, and foil balloons which can take different shapes. Additionally, there is a third type called Bubble Balloons. See below.
How big can be a balloon?
The standard size is 11-12″for latex balloons and 18” for foil balloons. We usually stock 5”, 16”, 24” and 36” in latex. The size varies a lot for foil balloons, from 18” to 42” or even more.
How can I purchase balloons?
You can either purchase unfilled or helium filled balloons. Alternatively, you can bring your pre-bought balloons and ask for helium, we will only charge for the gas. You can either get loose or arranged helium balloons on weights.
Regarding unfilled latex balloons, we usually stock standard size packs of 20 and 50 units, but feel free to get more or less balloons. We are happy to make a bag with as many as you want.
Do you arrange helium balloons or make bouquets?
Yes, we do. We are very pleased to help and give you advice in order to get the nicest arrangement ever for your party. There are many choices for you to choose from. We will usually agree with the number of balloons per weight, the type of display and the height you prefer (table or floor). Besides, you can select colour weight and ribbon. Remember, we can always give you a hand if this sounds a lot for you. Leave it to the experts and relax!
Can you inflate with helium any balloon?
Some types of balloons can be inflated with helium but they will not float because of their size and shape. For example, notice that 5” latex balloons will not float even with helium. Our advice is to check with an expert before you purchase, so you can avoid disappointment.
Do you have super shape number helium balloons?
Yes, we do. Super shape number helium balloons (34″) are really popular for birthday parties and anniversaries as well. We actually have them in different colours such as silver, gold, pink, blue and rose gold.
Do you have letter balloons?
Yes, we do. We usually stock the whole alphabet and a number of signs such as exclamation mark or the hashtag symbol. These are 14” air-filled balloons and you will need a fishing line to hold them up. They look amazing! On the other hand, you can purchase the giant helium letter balloons. We do not stock these all the time so we advise you to get in touch and make an order. We will ask you to pay for them in advanced.
How long does a Helium Balloon last?
The standard latex (11-12″) helium balloon usually has a duration of 14 hours. However, we can make it last longer with Hi-Float (see below).
Foil Balloons usually has a duration of 5-7 days. It is not possible to put Hi-Float inside foil balloons.
What is Hi-Float?
Hi-Float is a patented liquid solution that dries inside latex helium-filled balloon to form a coating that help hold in the helium. Latex balloons with Hi-Float can last from 4 days to a week or even more.
Please note that while balloons might float, the quality decreases as the time passes by. Our advice is to get them as close as you can to the date.
It is not possible to add Hi-Float to confetti helium balloons for obvious reasons nor to foil balloons as mentioned above. Hi-Float it is only for Latex Balloons.
Do I have to order Helium Balloons?
Helium Balloons do not have to be pre-ordered so you can pop in at any moment at our store. We will be happy to inflate them for you quickly. However, our advice is to pre-order in case of a big order and especially at the weekend, which is our busiest time.
Besides, we try to make it easy for you! It means that you can even order and pay by phone, so there is no need for you to come if you have clear what you want.
Do you sell Helium Cylinders?
Yes, we do. You can inflate up to 50 helium balloons of 9” with one of our Helium Cylinders. Remember, you can also get unfilled balloons, ribbon and weights at our store.
Do you do Balloon Deliveries?
Yes, we do. We need to know the address and how many balloons or bouquets you wish. We might inflate them at the venue, all depends on the number of balloons. We charge an amount for deliveries.
We usually deliver in Sheffield city centre and surrounding areas. Please get in touch if it is not the case, we will value your case.
Do you do any sort of discount?
Yes, we do. We usually apply bulk discounts when you purchase big amounts. Please get in touch and ask.
What is a Bubble Balloon?
The Bubble is a fantastic new type of balloon made from plastic instead of foil, this means that it will stay afloat for much longer than the normal foil balloons. Bubbles inflate perfectly round and have a beach ball like appearance.
These exciting new stretchy plastic balloons come in two types a ‘Double Bubble‘ which is a shaped balloon inside a clear plastic bubble, and the ‘Bubble’ itself which is a balloon made from clear plastic with a design printed onto them, or just clear.
Do you have Modelling Balloons?
Yes, we do. Modelling Balloons are also called Balloon Twisting, which is the shaping of special modelling balloons into almost any given shape, often a balloon animal. People who normally work with these balloons receive the name of twisters or benders. They are balloon artists! We usually have bags of 20 and 100 units.
Do you have Water Bomb Balloons?
Yes, we do. Water Bomb Balloons are ideal for summer parties. We usually have packs of 20, 50 and 100 units.
